Due October 1, 2014

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (June 10, 2014) – Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas will celebrate creativity and community with a Sunday Soup Supper on November 16th at 3015 At Trinity Groves. “CADD FUNd: Winner Takes All”, will be a fun, fast-paced evening of sharing innovative ideas about potential artistic projects. The CADD FUNd will make possible a high-impact idea that needs the support of the Dallas-Fort Worth arts community. The idea for “CADD FUNd: Winner Takes All” was inspired by similar events throughout the U.S. such as Feast in Brooklyn, Incubate in Chicago and Spread in Santa Fe. Over the past several years, organizations have taken the basic premise of a Sunday soup dinner – collect proposals, invite people to pay, eat, and listen, and then democratically vote for a winner – and adapted it to their own local purposes. This year’s CADD FUNd will be awarded to a current or previous M.A. or M.F.A. candidate from an institution within 100 miles of Dallas (see eligibility requirements at http://www.caddallas.net). Six finalists will be selected from all of the applicants. During the event they will present short proposals for original and yet-to-be-realized new projects. Members of the audience will have an opportunity to ask questions. The audience participants then vote for their favorite project. After a short recess to tally the votes, the Winner Takes All!The CADD FUNd is $2500 – $7500 + and beyond. The final amount awarded is dependent on ticket sales. The winner is dependent on audience participation on November 16. Tickets are $40.00 per person and will go on sale in September of 2014. Tickets will not be available at the door. ALL funds raised by ticket sales will go to the winner! While CADD FUNd is about raising much-needed cash, we hope that it will also be a forum to discuss the many other needs and resources that help make projects happen.
