The Center for Photographic Art (CPA) is pleased to announce the 2015 International Juried Exhibition—A Single Photograph Competition.

Approximately 40 juror –selected winners will be celebrated in the 2015 International Juried Exhibition in the CPA’s gallery at the historic Sunset Center in Carmel –by –the –Sea, California. These images will also be available for viewing on the CPA website, along with another 100 juror –selected photographs from among the submissions. Participation in the on –line gallery is optional. In addition, CPA will publish a print –on –demand catalog containing all 140 images chosen for inclusion in the gallery+online exhibitions.

Prizes
The juror will award the following prizes:

(1) Best in Show: $3,000
(1) Second Place: $2,000
(1) Third Place: $1,000

Juried Exhibition Entry:
You must be registered and login before you can enter this contest.

Registration is free, but CPA members get $20 off their entry fees!

  • To register for the Juried Exhibition without joining CPA please click the ‘Register only’ menu item below the login box on the left side of this window.
  • To join CPA and register for the Juried Exhibition, click the ‘Register & Join CPA” menu item.
  • If you are a CPA member but don’t know your MemberId and Password, click the ‘Forgot MemberId…’ menu item.

Note: If you registered for last year’s Juried Exhibition you will have to register again for this years contest.

Light Sensitive 2015 | Deedra Baker

Congratulations to Deedra Baker for having her artwork, Wayne Got Me a Cake and Balloon, selected by Robert Hirsch, juror for the exhibition, to be included in Light Sensitive 2015. The exhibition is at Art Intersection in Gilbert, AZ. Exhibition dates are March 7 – April 18, 2015.

Opening Reception: Saturday, March 7, 2015 | 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Deedra received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2011, from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. She is currently working toward a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts with a Photography Concentration and Intermedia Secondary Concentration at Texas Woman’s University.

Art Intersection presents Light Sensitive 2015, an annual juried exhibition of images created using traditional and alternative photographic processes. Past work has included analog c-prints, platinum, cyanotype, gelatin silver, gum bichromate, wet plate collodion tintypes, chemigrams, and other printing processes.

We are honored to have Robert Hirsch as the Juror for Light Sensitive 2015.

The Art Intersection curatorial staff will select three artists from Light Sensitive to show additional work during an  exhibition running from December 12, 2015 to January 9, 2016.

26 January : Application and JPEG submissions due
4 February : Notification of selected work
25 February : Selected work due at Art Intersection
7 March : Opening reception from 6 – 8pm
