JUROR: Allison Grant, Assistant Curator
Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, IL
Silver Eye Center for Photography announces a Call for Entries for Fellowship 15, our international photography competition. Now in its 15th year, this competition recognizes both rising talent and established photographers from all corners of the globe and from the state of Pennsylvania.
This year’s juror is Allison Grant, Assistant Curator, Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, IL.
One (1) International Award Winner receives a solo exhibition at Silver Eye opening late-January 2015; $3,000 cash prize; an online gallery on Silver Eye’s website (with link to artist website); and media outreach and promotion.
One (1) Keystone Award Winner, reserved for a Pennsylvania artist, receives a spotlight exhibition in late-January 2015; $1,000 cash prize; an online gallery on Silver Eye’s website (with link to artist website); and media outreach and promotion.
Five (5) Juror’s Commendation Winners will be named on Silver Eye’s website and press releases.
All U.S. and international amateur and professional photographers, age 18 and older at the time of submission, may apply.
Allison Grant is a curator, artist, writer, and teacher based in Chicago, IL. Since 2008, she has worked at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, where she is an assistant curator. Grant holds an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago and a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Media Studies. She currently teaches as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Photography and Art & Design departments at Columbia College Chicago.
Award recipients will be selected by the juror on the basis of exceptional, distinctive talent as evidenced by the strength of their submitted portfolios. The juror is especially interested in seeing portfolios with a strong narrative thrust and highly individual, original points of view.
There are two (2) rounds of evaluation. Winners will be notified via phone immediately following the decision of the juror. Non-selected photographers will be notified by email shortly thereafter. Decisions of the juror are final and binding.

Awards are given as prizes to the winning artists, and artists are not required to cover the cost of exhibition expenses.
If chosen as an award recipient, artists must provide work that is already printed, matted, if necessary, framed, and exhibition-ready. Silver Eye Center for Photography will not print, matte, or frame work.
The artist pays for one-way shipping with an agreed-upon carrier such as FedEx and for expenses related to the packing of the work.
Silver Eye Center for Photography will cover return shipping using a price-match of the cost of shipping for initial delivery. Receipts must be submitted by the artist to Silver Eye to verify shipping costs. If the price of return shipping exceeds the price-match, the artist will cover the difference for the cost.
