Juror
Allison Grant is a curator, artist, writer, and teacher based in Chicago, IL. Since 2008, she has worked at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, where she is an assistant curator. Grant holds an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago and a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Media Studies. Selection Criteria
Award recipients will be selected by the juror on the basis of exceptional, distinctive talent as evidenced by the strength of their submitted portfolios. The juror is especially interested in seeing portfolios with a strong narrative thrust and highly individual, original points of view.

Jurying
There are two (2) rounds of evaluation. Winners will be notified via phone immediately following the decision of the juror. Non-selected photographers will be notified by email shortly thereafter. Decisions of the juror are final and binding.

What to Enter
The submission you are entering is comprised of three individual items: 1) a one-page Artist’s Statement in PDF format; 2) your biography or CV in PDF format, and 3) your work sample.
You may submit up to ten (10) images from a cohesive, exhibition-ready body of work created within the past three years. Or, if from an ongoing project, the portfolio must include images created within the past three years.

Submitted work may not have been previously exhibited at Silver Eye or in the Greater Pittsburgh region.

For the best image quality and fast upload, image files must be no larger than 1,500 pixels wide, and saved as a .JPG size 8.

Exhibition Guidelines
Awards are given as prizes to the winning artists, and artists are not required to cover the cost of exhibition expenses.
If chosen as an award recipient, artists must provide work that is already printed, matted, if necessary, framed, and exhibition-ready. Silver Eye Center for Photography will not print, matte, or frame work.
The artist pays for one-way shipping with an agreed-upon carrier such as FedEx and for expenses related to the packing of the work.
Silver Eye Center for Photography will cover return shipping using a price-match of the cost of shipping for initial delivery. Receipts must be submitted by the artist to Silver Eye to verify shipping costs. If the price of return shipping exceeds the price-match, the artist will cover the difference for the cost.
