Six new and emerging fine-art photographers will exhibit their work this summer at Foley Gallery in New York City through PDN‘s The Curator. The annual competition will also award each photographer with $200 to B&H and $250 to Moab Paper, plus a $3,500 award to one grand-prize winner.

One of last year’s winners, Amy Friend, was selected for her series “Dare alla Luce” (Italian for “to bring to the light”), through which she explores the relationship between presence and absence. Friend worked with a collection of vintage photographs retrieved from both personal and impersonal sources, altering each print with small holes through which she shines light, then subsequently re-photographing them. See more of her work, along with the other winning photographers from 2015, here.
