One of last year’s winners, Amy Friend, was selected for her series “Dare alla Luce” (Italian for “to bring to the light”), through which she explores the relationship between presence and absence. Friend worked with a collection of vintage photographs retrieved from both personal and impersonal sources, altering each print with small holes through which she shines light, then subsequently re-photographing them. See more of her work, along with the other winning photographers from 2015, here.
